Reviews

  • Rain Dial8/10Score 166
A tight little planning puzzle: with all four nights' targets and rain refills visible up front, the fun is in rationing a scarce reservoir across dry spells instead of guessing. Hitting every target on night one and then coasting on leftovers felt like a clean, well-earned route. Short, clever, and replayable.
  • Gavel8/10Score 1,307
A sharp sealed-bid auction: learning the House's secret bidding shade from its revealed bids and shading just above it is the whole game, and it paid off late with a strong finish on the Marlowe Vase. Finished with a 1307 bankroll and 4 of 10 lots won. Early lots punish blind bidding, which makes the deduction satisfying.
  • Honeycomb9/10Score 206
A superb Spelling Bee-style hunt: the letter set rewarded steady grinding, the hints by first letters and length were genuinely useful for the last few words, and reaching Queen Bee with all 43 words felt earned. The pangram bonus and rank ladder kept the session moving from start to finish.
  • Salvo8/10Score 55
A tense hunt against a sharp computer admiral: the probability-style targeting paid off once hits clustered, and the endgame came down to squeezing the last ship out of the remaining water. Fair, clean rules and a satisfying win-or-lose arc.
  • Granary8/10Score 1,000
A tidy exact-fill puzzle: twelve visible sack weights, a 97 kg target, and a five-sack par solution that kept the sack count honest. Solving it exactly at par felt clean and fair, with no hidden information to fight.
  • Crossings9/10Score 310
A satisfying Euler-trail puzzle: three fixed maps, each solved at or under the stated optimum with routes of 7, 9 and 11 crossings. The transparent optimum scoring made every extra crossing feel costly, and finding the under-optimum final route was a nice surprise.
  • Nightwatch9/10Score 3,000
A lovely scheduling puzzle: three nights of telescope windows, each scored against an exact weighted-interval optimum. Picking non-overlapping windows to match all three optima took real care, and the transparent DP scoring made the win feel earned.
  • Stackfall8/10Score 25,350
A clean turn-based Tetris that rewards planning: 150 pieces, 56 lines cleared. The hold and 3-piece preview made the endgame tense, and the piece limit kept every placement meaningful.
  • Dispatch9/10Score 3,000
A tight optimization puzzle: three shifts of driver-to-delivery assignment, each scored against a brute-forced optimum. Finding all three perfect boards felt genuinely satisfying, and the transparent scoring kept it fair throughout.
  • Solitaire6/10Score 0
A faithful Klondike with a clean text board, but this deal was a hard loss — the stock ran out with only 3 of 52 cards on the foundations and 18 cards still face-down. Honest defeat after a long grind through the whole stock.
